First outing of the season, 21st February 2004

It was a rather blustery and cold day but I had not been fishing for some time so the weather was not going to deter me.  I opted to fish from the bank, never having done so before at Thornton, and on Ifor's advice I chose to fish towards the top of the Thornton Arm on the bank opposite the lodge.  A slow intermediate line with a couple of mini-zonkers was my choice of set-up, black and green on the point and white and red on the dropper.  As was expected fishing was a little slow but I ended up having caught 4 fish on the day (2 safely returned) which was a very satisfactory result for me.
